The City of Coeur d’Alene Building Services Department administers plan review, building permits, inspections, and code compliance for construction, remodeling, repair, and demolition inside the city. Coeur d’Alene requires permits for common work including new construction, additions, alterations, tenant improvements, window replacement, decks, pools, siding, re-roofs, demolition, and regulated trade work. The City states that residential applications receive detailed plan review, while some re-roof, demolition, siding, mechanical, and plumbing permits may be available over the counter.
