What to check in New Mexico
In New Mexico, permits come from the state Construction Industries Division unless the city or county runs a full-service building department with a certified building official. Only CID-licensed contractors can pull permits, apart from homeowner permits for a primary residence.
State permits unless a full-service local department exists. An address inside an incorporated city or another local jurisdiction may be served by a separate building department.
