Inspections occur in phases, and a project may require building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire, right-of-way, or development-review inspections. After final approval, the city issues a certificate of occupancy or final acceptance letter as applicable.

The city’s certificate-of-occupancy guidance identifies temporary and final occupancy inspection requirements. Do not occupy a new or altered space until the required final approvals and occupancy documentation are complete.
