Phoenix is in Maricopa County, but a Phoenix address does not send the project to Maricopa County Planning and Development. Properties outside an incorporated city may instead fall under the county or another local jurisdiction.

Inspections, code compliance, and occupancy

After a permit is issued, Phoenix requires inspections to verify that construction is safe and complies with approved plans and city standards.
