The City of Kalispell Building Department performs plan review and inspections for commercial and residential projects within Kalispell city limits. Flathead County does not operate a county building department in unincorporated areas; the county says building codes are administered by the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, while county Planning and Zoning may require site-plan review in specified zoning districts.
