Princeton building permits and plan review

The Building & Construction Department publishes a Construction Permit Application Packet and explains that plan review is part of the local process. Princeton’s Office of Zoning separately reviews zoning permits and property-use requirements for additions, new buildings, decks, fences, driveways, signs, solar panels, and other listed work. Some residential site improvements require engineering review before zoning and building submittals.

Inspections, code compliance, and certificates of occupancy

A final inspection is required for each applicable subcode before a final Certificate of Occupancy or Approval may be issued.
